My name is Mike Cote and I am running for York County Commissioner in York County Maine District One; which includes Acton, Berwick, Cornish, Lebanon, Limington, Newfield, North Berwick, Parsonsfield, Shapleigh and South Berwick.
I am an Independent candidate who is interested in serving people not parties. Most of my campaign funding comes from my wife and myself. I do not take PAC money or money from special interests.
My experience includes:
- Commissioner on the Saco River Corridor Commission—November 2021 to present.
- Town of Shapleigh Selectman—March 2021 to present.
- Owner and operator Mikes Sewing Machines—March 2009 to present.
- York County Budget Committee—April 2021to December 2021.
- Chairperson York County Commissioners—January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020.
- Vice Chairperson York County Commissioners—January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019.
- York County Commissioner District 4 — January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2020.
- York County Deputy Sheriff Serving in Civil and Court Security Divisions — February 2001 to February 2009.
- Wells Maine Police Dept. reserve and full time police officer June-1978-October 1986.
- Member – Maine Commissioner of Corrections Jail and Municipal Detention Centers Advisory Board.
- Maine County Commissioners Association 2013-2020.
- Maine County Commissioners Association-secretary Treasurer — January 2014 to 2018.
